About Mr Hakimi

A surgeon who explains first, and operates only when it’s right for you.

Most hip and knee problems can be helped without an operation. My job is to find the cause of your symptoms, talk you through every option in plain English, and help you choose what fits your life.

When surgery is the best route, you’ll be looked after by the same consultant from your first appointment to your final check-up.

Robotic-assisted surgery

Robotic-assisted joint replacement, planned around your joint

For suitable patients, Mr Hakimi uses robotic-assisted technology for joint replacement. It helps him plan the position of your new joint and follow that plan accurately in theatre.

Planned for your joint

The position of the implant is planned around your own anatomy.

Accuracy in theatre

The robotic arm helps carry out the plan precisely.

Your surgeon in control

Mr Hakimi performs the operation throughout. The technology assists him.

Robotic-assisted surgery isn’t suitable for everyone. Mr Hakimi will explain whether it is an option for you at your consultation.

FAQs

Questions patients often ask

Can’t find what you need? My secretary will be happy to help.

Not always. Self-paying patients can book directly. If you’re using insurance, your insurer may ask for a GP referral before authorising your appointment.

A list of your current medicines, any previous X-rays, scans or reports, and your insurer’s pre-authorisation code if you are insured. Loose clothing makes it easier to examine the hip or knee.

Not necessarily. Many hip and knee problems improve with non-surgical treatment, and surgery is only recommended when it’s the right option for you.

Recovery varies from person to person. Most people are walking with support on the day of surgery or the day after, and recovery continues over the following weeks and months. Mr Hakimi will explain what to expect in your case.

Yes. Mr Hakimi is recognised by the major UK insurers. Please contact your insurer before your appointment to obtain a pre-authorisation code, and check your excess and any outpatient limits.
